Wednesday, March 3, 2010 Flirting with FleaMarkets
We love a good hunt. As much as we love Home Depot, True Value and Lowes, we'll drive out to Pennsylvania and knock down a barn to get our hands on some reclaimed wood. We will drive long and hard to find architectural wonders cast offs. I remember the days of driving around Brooklyn looking for buildings being renovated. Why? I wanted the windows! Those windows make beautiful frames. Remember this? That's a Brooklyn window I held on to for over 6 years before we bought a house. It's super special to me, and now I get to see it every day in my otherwise gross kitchen. Needless to say, we love junk. We love taking interesting things and making them our own. It's good for us as a married couple to work on projects together, as well as being responsible to our earth, we get to use things in new ways instead of letting them wind up in a landfill. Do you know of an awesome flea market? Do tell, we will travel far and wide (rent a uhaul and bring i back home!)
